About the Journal
The Haiti Nexus Journal of Agriculture and Life Sciences is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal dedicated to advancing research and innovation in agriculture, biological sciences, environmental sciences, food systems, and sustainable development. The journal promotes scientific collaboration between Haitian and international scholars and supports research addressing agricultural, environmental, and biological challenges affecting Haiti, the Caribbean, Africa, and other developing regions.

4. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
Language
Manuscripts may be submitted in English or French. Authors are responsible for ensuring the manuscript is grammatically correct and professionally edited.
Formatting Requirements
Authors should prepare manuscripts using:
- Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
- Double spacing
- 1-inch (2.54 cm) margins
- Continuous page numbering
- Line numbering recommended

5. References and Citation Style
The journal recommends APA (7th edition) or Vancouver citation style. Authors must ensure consistency throughout the manuscript.

6. Tables, Figures, and Supplementary Materials
Tables
- Tables must be editable and not submitted as images.
- Each table must have a descriptive title.
- Tables should be cited within the text.
Figures
- Figures must be high-resolution (minimum 300 dpi).
- Accepted formats: PNG, TIFF, JPEG, EPS.
- Figure captions should be submitted separately.
Supplementary Materials
Supplementary materials may include datasets, field protocols, videos, questionnaires, GIS files, or additional figures and tables.
7. Ethical Considerations
Research Integrity
Authors must ensure the integrity, transparency, and reproducibility of their research.
Human and Animal Subjects
Research involving human participants or animals must comply with institutional and international ethical standards.
Field and Environmental Research
Studies involving environmental sampling, biodiversity, or field experimentation should comply with local regulations and permit requirements.
Genetically Modified Organisms and Biotechnology
Research involving GMOs or biotechnology applications must comply with national and international biosafety regulations.
8. Authorship Criteria
All listed authors must have substantially contributed to:
- Study conception or design
- Data collection, analysis, or interpretation
- Manuscript drafting or revision
- Approval of the final manuscript
The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring all co-authors approve the submission.
9. Conflicts of Interest and Funding Disclosure
Authors must disclose:
- Financial conflicts of interest
- Institutional or commercial relationships
- Funding sources and grant numbers
If no conflicts exist, authors should state:
“No conflict of interest declared.”
10. Prior Publication and Preprints
Submitted manuscripts must represent original work not under review elsewhere.
The journal supports responsible dissemination of research through recognized preprint platforms. Authors must disclose any prior posting or dissemination.
If accepted, authors should update preprints with the citation and DOI of the final published article.
11. Peer Review Process
All submissions undergo an initial editorial evaluation followed by single-anonymized peer review by at least two independent reviewers.

The Haiti Nexus Journal of Agriculture and Life Sciences publishes all articles under an open-access model to maximize scientific visibility and accessibility.
Readers may freely access, download, and share articles according to the journal’s licensing policies.
13. Article Processing Charges (APC)
To support publication and editorial operations, the journal charges the following APC upon manuscript acceptance:
- Members: USD $100
- Non-members: USD $250
No submission fee is charged before peer review.
APCs are non-refundable once production begins.
14. Copyright and Licensing
Authors retain copyright of their work while granting the journal the right to publish and distribute the article.
The journal may publish articles under a Creative Commons license.
