The Haiti Nexus Journal of Engineering and Technology is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal dedicated to advancing research and innovation in the fields of engineering, applied sciences, technology, and design. The journal fosters scientific collaboration between Haitian and international researchers and supports work addressing the technological, infrastructural, and industrial challenges affecting Haiti, the Caribbean, Africa, and other developing regions.

4. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

Language

Manuscripts may be submitted in English or French. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript is grammatically correct and professionally edited.

Formatting Requirements

Authors should prepare their manuscripts using:

• Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
• Double line spacing
• Margins of 2.54 cm (1 inch)
• Continuous page numbering
• Line numbering recommended

Manuscript Structure

Title Page

The title page must include:

• Running title (50 characters maximum)
• Full names of all authors
• Institutional affiliations
• ORCID identifiers (where applicable)

Abstract

Abstracts must not exceed 300 words and should summarize:

Provide 3 to 6 keywords following the abstract.

Main Text

5. References and Citation Style

The journal recommends the IEEE or APA citation style (7th edition). Authors must ensure consistency throughout the manuscript.

DOIs must be included whenever available.

6. Tables, Figures, and Supplementary Material

Tables

• Tables must be editable and not submitted as images.
• Each table must have a descriptive title.
• Tables must be cited in the text.

Figures

• Figures must be high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).
• Accepted formats: PNG, TIFF, JPEG, EPS.
• Figure captions must be submitted separately.

Supplementary Material

Supplementary material may include datasets, source code, technical schematics, CAD files, demonstration videos, or additional figures and tables.

7. Ethical Considerations

Research Integrity

Authors must ensure the integrity, transparency, and reproducibility of their work. The journal encourages the sharing of data and code that enable the replication of results.

Human Subjects

Research involving human participants (trials, surveys, usability studies) must comply with institutional and international ethical standards.

Safety and Technical Compliance

Research involving testing, prototypes, or devices must comply with applicable safety standards and relevant regulatory requirements.

Intellectual Property and Patents

Authors must disclose any patents, patent applications, or intellectual property interests related to the submitted work.

8. Authorship Criteria

All listed authors must have substantially contributed to:

• The approval of the final manuscript

The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors approve the submission.

9. Conflicts of Interest and Funding Disclosure

Authors must disclose:

In the absence of conflicts, authors must declare:

10. Prior Publication and Preprints

Submitted manuscripts must represent original work not under review elsewhere.

Upon acceptance, authors must update their preprints with the citation and DOI of the final published version of the article.

11. Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo an initial editorial assessment, followed by single-blind peer review conducted by at least two independent reviewers.

12. Open Access Policy

The Haiti Nexus Journal of Engineering and Technology publishes all its articles under an open-access model to maximize scientific visibility and accessibility.

Readers may freely access, download, and share articles in accordance with the journal's licensing policies.

13. Article Processing Charges (APC)

To support publication and editorial operations, the journal applies the following processing charges upon manuscript acceptance:

• Members: USD 100
• Non-members: USD 250

No submission fee is charged before peer review.

APCs are non-refundable once production has begun.

14. Copyright and License

Authors retain copyright of their work while granting the journal the right to publish and distribute the article.

The journal may publish articles under a Creative Commons license.

Authors are responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions for any copyrighted material.
