About the Journal
The Haiti Nexus Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal dedicated to advancing research and critical reflection in the humanities and social sciences. The journal fosters intellectual collaboration between Haitian and international scholars and supports work addressing the social, cultural, historical, political, and human questions affecting Haiti, the Caribbean, Africa, the diaspora, and other regions of the world.

4. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
Language
Manuscripts may be submitted in English, French, or Haitian Creole. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript is grammatically correct and professionally edited.

- Double line spacing
- Margins of 2.54 cm (1 inch)
- Continuous page numbering
- Line numbering recommended
Manuscript Structure
Title Page
The title page must include:

- Running title (50 characters maximum)

Abstract

5. References and Citation Style
The journal recommends the APA citation style (7th edition) or Chicago (author-date or notes-bibliography). Authors must ensure consistency throughout the manuscript.

DOIs must be included whenever available. Archival and primary sources must be cited in accordance with the chosen style.
6. Tables, Figures, and Supplementary Material
Tables
- Tables must be editable and not submitted as images.
- Each table must have a descriptive title.
- Tables must be cited in the text.
Figures
- Figures, maps, and images must be high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).
- Accepted formats: PNG, TIFF, JPEG, EPS.
- Figure captions must be submitted separately.
- Authors must obtain permissions for any copyrighted images.
Supplementary Material
Supplementary material may include interview transcripts, questionnaires, archival documents, datasets, maps, recordings, or additional appendices.
7. Ethical Considerations
Research Integrity
Authors must ensure the integrity, transparency, and intellectual honesty of their work, including the faithful representation of sources and data.
Human Subjects and Qualitative Research
Research involving human participants (interviews, ethnography, surveys) must comply with institutional and international ethical standards, obtain informed consent, and protect participant anonymity where required.
Communities and Vulnerable Populations
Research involving communities or vulnerable populations must respect the dignity, well-being, and rights of those concerned, and avoid any harm or exploitation.
Sources, Cultural Rights, and Intellectual Property
Authors must respect cultural and intellectual property rights, cite their sources faithfully, and obtain the necessary permissions for the use of sensitive or protected material.
8. Authorship Criteria
All listed authors must have substantially contributed to:
- The conception of the study or argument
- The collection, analysis, or interpretation of sources and data
- The drafting or revision of the manuscript
- The approval of the final manuscript
The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors approve the submission.
9. Conflicts of Interest and Funding Disclosure
Authors must disclose:

- Funding sources and grant numbers
In the absence of conflicts, authors must declare:
"No conflicts of interest declared."
10. Prior Publication and Preprints
Submitted manuscripts must represent original work not under review elsewhere.
The journal supports the responsible dissemination of research through recognized preprint platforms (such as SSRN or institutional repositories). Authors must disclose any prior publication or dissemination.
Upon acceptance, authors must update their preprints with the citation and DOI of the final published version of the article.
11. Peer Review Process
All submissions undergo an initial editorial assessment, followed by double-blind peer review conducted by at least two independent reviewers.

Readers may freely access, download, and share articles in accordance with the journal's licensing policies.
13. Article Processing Charges (APC)
To support publication and editorial operations, the journal applies the following processing charges upon manuscript acceptance:
- Members: USD 100
- Non-members: USD 250
No submission fee is charged before peer review.
APCs are non-refundable once production has begun.
14. Copyright and License
Authors retain copyright of their work while granting the journal the right to publish and distribute the article.
